Funtabulous Weekend

I had such an incredible weekend I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that it's over. Unfortunately I didn't drag my camera around with me for any of it so I'll just have to paint you a picture: It started on Friday night with a hot date to the haunted house in town. I haven't been to a good haunted house in....well ever. We both had the snot completely scared out of us! It felt like we were stuck in a horror movie and at times I wasn't sure I wouldn't lose my mind with fear! At the end of it all the tension in my neck was as intense as the crazy smile on my face. Afterwards we decided to go bowling, something else I haven't done in years, and we had a blast. I did manage to bowl a few strikes but they were frequently surrounded by gutter balls or knocking down one lonely pin. It all balanced out I suppose. We ended the night getting lost on the way home. We took a long and dark drive along what I'm guessing was the Sacramento river. The moon reflected in it perfectly and if I hadn't been preoccupied with not knowing where we were I could have marveled in the beauty a bit more. We are going to have to hunt that road down again someday and bring my camera. Saturday he joined me again for a day of working in my church nursery. We spent hours at IKEA hunting down the perfect shelves and blinds with a very sleepy 3 year old. Any man that can handle the time suckage that an afternoon at IKEA produces is alright in my book. After he showed off his handy man skills we had some ice cream for dinner and he headed back home. I then headed over to my BFF's house to dish all the juicy details.
Sunday was the cherry on top. I'd heard on facebook about a last min show at the Crest, Robin Williams was coming to town to test out his new material. Tickets went on sale at 10am on Friday and I managed to snag a pair before they sold out at 10:10 am. The show was hilarious. Yes, Mr. Williams is pretty foul mouthed and nasty but it's MORK! He's an icon! Our cheeks were sore after laughing for 2 hours straight. He is such a nut and comedic genius and I'm so grateful we have that memory to share. So now you see why this Monday has been such a brutal crash after such a whirlwind of fun weekend? It's going down in the record books as one of the best ever. Thank you Devin for every part. :)

  3. I can't believe Robin Williams still has to test out new material. Just goes to show what a pro he really is. I freakin' love IKEA. Last trip to L.A. I picked up a milk glass desk with four chrome legs, kidney shaped and huge. I think I am beginning to confuse myself with a photographer that makes a LOT of money. Oh, well. I feel very talented working on my iMac editing photos on top of that desk. I have been to the Sacramento IKEA before. You all are so lucky to have one so close. I go nuts in there. If we had one close, I wouldn't act like it is the last time I am ever going to get fed.
