Best of 2010

It's not an easy choice but the symbolism, clouds, and color of this shot remains in my memory as a favorite of the year.

I hope everyone has a great time celebrating 2010 and ringing in 2011. I'm thrilled to see what this new year has in store for myself and my loved ones!! Happy New Year!

Green

Did an impromptu family portrait session yesterday, I had to find a location quickly and pray the rain held off long enough to for the shoot. My prayers were answered and I shot these in the park while I waited.

Lush, green goodness.

Mom's Christmas Decorations

A vintage Santa, A loaded tree, a classic nativity, and memories galore.
My mother has more Christmas decorations than should be legal,
but the whole house
feels warm and festive.

Merry Christmas eve everyone!

Sleeping to the sound of the rain outside is the best.

Christmas in my town

I do enjoy my drive home from work this time of year.
The cute store fronts in old town full of sparkles and color.
Neighborhood homes decorated in lights and signs of the season.

4 more days!!!

5 days and counting

Am I ready? No. Am I excited? Yes. Would I like to find the fast forward button and wiz past the next 4 days of work and wrapping? Absolutely!

Hope you're feeling that pre Christmas tickle in your tummy and it's not just from overdoing it on the sweets!

Getting in the spirit

I had to! After three weeks with out my camera in hand I braved the rain and endured the sore ankle to capture some of the Christmas lights in town. I'm so glad I did! It's finally (a week before the big day) beginning to feel like Christmas!

Pictures make great gifts

I took these pictures of my niece and nephews this summer while they were visiting from out of state with the intention of choosing a few to frame and use as Christmas gifts for my brother and his wife. I had a hard time choosing only a few, but frames get heavy and I have to pay for shipping so....I narrowed it down. These were my favorite's, a few will grace my desk and perhaps find their way into more family members gift boxes. Mom...don't look.

Obviouvly my little princess loved having her pictures taken, and her sweet faced younger brother was very cooperative, her older brother wasn't quite as enthusiastic. He asked me if he "HAD to smile?" I told him he didn't have to, now I wish I had. lol! Oh well, tween mentality at it's best. ;)

I hope they love them as much as I do!

Take notice

The timing of this injury is, as usual, very inconvenient. I have Christmas shopping to finish! Thank God for online shopping. I also can't easily take any pictures since my hands are tied up in crutches. I miss my camera, she hasn't been in my hand for weeks now and I am longing to capture some holiday lights and color. So until things are healed up enough for me to use my hands for shopping, baking, and snapping pictures I need to take some time to get my mind in photographer mode. Slow down, look around, take notice. The details are still there and still beautiful even though I don't have the means to capture them to share. I can still enjoy and appreciate the details and moments of the season. I can also enjoy the beauty of fellow photographers that consistently take my breath away. I created a gallery in flickr of a few of the Christmas lovelies, click the link and enjoy!
