Sawyer

I haven't done a newborn shoot in years, and never in the first week of life.  I was so excited when my dear friend told me she was expecting and quickly informed her I would be showing up at her home soon after she gave birth to capture her precious boy in all that newborn magic.  I had dreams of a sleeping bundle easy to pose and perfectly still...a dream model right?  Yeah, he was not on board with that plan.  Little Sawyer, just like his mommy, was wide awake and full of energy.  So although my expectations were far from reality we rolled with it and I still see so much beauty in these photos and the details of his first week of life at home.

Congratulations Stephanie and Donovan!
He is perfect and I can't wait to watch (and capture) him as he grows.

Remember me?

I know I've been MIA. With wedding, honeymoon, moving, and settling into the new place I just haven't made this blog a priority at all. I miss it. I miss you. If anyone is still reading, I promise to be back with wedding photos as soon as I get them. The wedding was wonderful and the honeymoon spectacular and we are settling into the new family life quite well. I will share more soon. Promise.

But this post is about baby Evelyn. I took these photos almost 3 months ago but told mama it would be a while before they were processed and complete. I hope she thinks they were worth the wait. Such a darling little family that I truly enjoyed capturing.

Precious right?

I'll be by soon to visit your blogs and catch up. Hope all is well!

xoxo

A bridal shower and a baby fix

Whew.

Another weekend of running around making the most of every moment.

I crammed my car full of kids and hauled them to all kinds of fun on Fri and Sat. They arrived safely, got fed, didn't fight, and said they had fun, I think that earns me a star on my mommy badge.

I also picked up my wedding dress! Squeeeeeeeeal!

Then this afternoon a wonderful bridal shower was thrown for me by the amazing ladies from my church. I completely feel showered with love. I can't begin to explain what a beautiful and touching event it was and I didn't bring my camera so if you weren't there you will just have to take my word for it. I am blessed to have so many amazing women in my family, my future family, and my church family. I am overwhelmed, and for a change it's not by wedding details and stress but by the outpouring of love from women that are genuinely so happy for Devin and I they just want to celebrate!
34 days till this party is on!

Since I haven't had my camera out in a few I'll give you a baby fix from the newborn shoot I had the pleasure of doing a couple weekends ago. Her name is Evelyn.  Isn't she a doll? I'm getting an edit done here and there when I find free time.  Fortunately mom and dad are understanding about my crazy schedule right now.  I think they are too wrapped up in love with their precious new baby girl to care.  Thank God for that.

I hope the love that's overflowing in my heart tonight has oozed out through this post and found it's way into yours.
And if it didn't at least you can smile at that sweet baby face.

Kristin and J part 2

You may (or may not) recall my last shoot with this adorable couple. We squeezed it in right before my ankle surgery and about half way through the shoot that wonderful ankle gave out on me and I fell. Kristin and J insisted we stop and I insisted we book a re-do when I was healed up. Well we finally got that re-do and I couldn't be more pleased that we did. These are two of the sweetest people I've been privileged to know, it's no wonder they fell in love with one another. I think their love for each other shines through in these photos.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Damion

Roaming around the texture filled downtown Sac with a charming graduate snapping photos,
yeah it was a pretty fun way to spend my Friday eve.
And bonus! Look at that smile!

He even busted out the cap n gown, downtown, in front of traffic.
He pretty much won my heart at that point.
Very cool young man in my book!

Congratulations Damion!
And thanks Mama Marcie for letting me capture this special time in your (one of your many) boys life!

Kara Sneak Peek

I'm up too late editing photo's from last weekends senior photo session with Kara.  I have got to get to bed...but had to share a couple with you before I do.  Isn't she lovely?

I adore her freckles.  :)

Kristin and J

Last week I was driving into work in awe of the beautiful fall colors surrounding me and I posted a status on FB wishing out loud that I had a photo shoot that weekend. I didn't really expect to have not one but two families reply wanting to book right away!

Be careful what you wish and pray for! :)

I tried my best to get both booked but was only able to get one scheduled then only after a few poses into the shoot I rolled my ankle and we had to postpone the rest. I felt awful. For one we were at her parents new property which is STUNNING. I was literally giddy with all the beautiful scenery and ideas were just starting to flow when my ankle betrayed me. Fortunately they are one of the sweetest couples you'll ever meet and graciously insisted we reschedule when I have recovered. I made them promise we would come back to there to finish the shoot. I did manage to get a few good ones that I hope will make the cut for a Christmas card for this adorable couple.

Thanks again Kristin and J for the opportunity and understanding (and the ice!) This shoot is too be continued and I can't wait to finish!
