A little message I received in downtown Sac, thought I'd pass it along.
My city.
How do I make it better?
What more can I do?
Pride in my city.
Love for my city.
It all could use a little boost.

Pizza Date
After a fun day with friends at the Discovery Museum E and I had a lunch date, he wanted pizza, I had no good reason to say no to that.
He's becoming a hand washing Nazi.
Enjoying some "loot beer."
Straw paper snakes are a must.
I'm serious about my dislike for tomatoes, get them off my pizza!
I finished book one of the Hunger Games. I will be picking up the rest of the series this week. Hopefully I'll have some reading time at the courthouse tomorrow when the trial starts.
OK off to enjoy the last hours of the weekend with my boys.
They are so sweet to me. Hope you're feeling loved today too.

Write-on
The theme for February at {in the picture} was "write-on." We were supposed to incorporate words in our photos. I pretty much just added them in after the photo was taken. I am getting more comfortable with taking selfie's and utilizing any alone time I have to set up my tripod and find my remote. It's been a lot of fun so far, and it's not too late to join in!
In other news I just got back last night from a 3 day trip to Albuquerque for work. It wiped me out. Super early mornings and a hard hotel mattress equals Kim in Zombie form. I'm glad to be home, got my Starbucks and I'm going to catch up on some blogs while the washing machine does it's thing. Then, hopefully, before I go pick up the boy from preschool I want to get a little reading in. I went ahead and bought the first of the Hunger Games book for the flight home and finished half of it. Everyone was right, it's good. I'm jumping on the bandwagon late, as usual, but I'm riding it all the way!
Happy Friday all!

Laura's pink wings
This week was a bit different. Another day of jury duty, and yes, I am officially a juror. :) I can't wait for it to be over so I can dish all the details to those twisted folks like me that want to know.
Yesterday was a graveside service for my G-ma Laura.
She and my grandpa married in their late 70's and were the cutest couple. G-pa has been gone for over 10 years now and Laura has been a fun and special part of our family till last week when she, at 98, went to be with Jesus. Laura was a crack up, she always had a come back for my dad's smart remarks which would surprise you coming from this petite and soft spoken 90 year old. She was a big fan of pink, I mean BIG. I have no doubt she's sporting some pink glitter wings in heaven. You will be missed G-ma Laura. Xoxo

Moments shared
I took advantage of movie time with E by setting up my tripod and remote.
"Return to Neverland," plenty of pillows, popcorn, and my sweet boy. :)
I will say this self portrait project is making me think outside the box a bit more when it comes to finding camera time.
I didn't have any concept or preconceived, creative idea's surrounding this.
Just grabbing the opportunity to have some everyday life shots of my boy and me. And since this month's theme is "write on" I added the text.
Again, not so sure I like the words but I'm still thinking about a way to incorporate words in my selfies that work for me.

Juror # 6
I got the golden ticket! I went in for my civic duty this morning for Jury Duty. I am one of those rare people that would volunteer for it if I could. The whole judicial system is fascinating and even if I spend the whole day with nothing to do it's a great opportunity to get through a book. Spent much of the day wishing I had my Nikon slung around my neck that's sort of frowned upon so I tried to discretely snap some shots with my Driod. The building is just old enough to be kind of cool and I was attracted to all the symmetry.
Just a few shots from my day.

"Mommy I'm going to kill this sick"
Our Sunday didn't go as planned. The flu hit E pretty hard this morning and we spent much of the day working to keep his fever down. Fevers freak me out.
I practically fight tears when my baby's temp reaches 104.
He's asleep now.
It might be a long night of battling the dreaded 105.
Part of being a mommy.

My words are cheesy
It helps sometimes to just take a moment. Find a quiet place and drink in the details. And in my case try incessantly to get a decent self portrait.
For February at {in the picture} the theme is "write on.!" I've never been real good at this. I see other photographs including words that work, really well. But when I try it always comes off kinda cheesy. The below attempt is no exception. Maybe by the end of the month I'll get one I'm proud of.
Happy weekend, hope you get some quiet time of your own to relax!

Remember Summer?
When I was fishing through the countless folders of images looking for the ones I wanted for E's star student poster I found that:
a) I seriously need to clean out my folders and get rid of what's backed up and
b) I had a really great summer last year.
Don't you love scrolling through the memories? Thank God for photographs.
