Magical Memories

I hope my dear, sweet boy remembers this special birthday trip for years to come. I think I'll put together a scrapbook of photos and goodies for him so there is no way he will forget. You can see by his face that meeting Minnie Mouse was a total treat. Anytime I asked him "what do you want to do now?" his answer was "Go find Minnie Mouse."  hee hee.
I have so many photos of him with the favorite characters maybe a collage for his bedroom wall?

Disneyland trips are not meant for relaxing, but for every painful step and hour spent in line you are rewarded with a smile and squeal that makes it all worth while.

I've been in recovery mode from this trip for 3 days!  Between the horrible bug I caught and the lack of sleep and aching feet I needed a rest from my vacation.  Feeling better now and ready to get back into Wedding prep.  Happy 5th birthday Elijah!  Mommy loves you.

Disneyland Instagram

We got home late last night/early this morning. What an amazing time. Disneyland is even more magical when seeing it through the eyes of your child. We celebrated his 5th birthday on Friday, well really the whole trip was one big celebration. I'm not going to lie, 5 days in Disneyland kicked my butt. I'm taking today to recover and upload the 1,000 photos I took. Don't worry I won't post them all. ;)

Miss me? I've been MIA with much on my plate this week and will continue to be so as we leave tomorrow morning for E's first trip to see Mickey!  It'll be a birthday to remember for my sweet lil man. I look forward to sharing photo's and stories when we get back.

A family that bikes together...

We dusted off the adult bikes so the kids could get some ride time in on Saturday. It was so fun! I expect to spend a lot of time on the bike trails this summer.

My little accident prone Ciena.  No broken bones but some sore ribs and a handlebar full of turf.

 

Lovely day!  Just what the doctor ordered to start off this crazy busy month.

Jazz Man

We were walking downtown today shooting a Senior Portrait session when we heard the 

sweet sound of saxophone making it's way down the alley toward us. 

Damion, the super sweet senior I was shooting, and I instantly knew
we had to make a detour to hear more. I also knew I had to ask if I could take his photo. 

 He was making beautiful music ring from the walls of a graffiti filled alley...

a very special treat for our Friday evening shoot.

Morning moment and PS Actions

The sun rises and sets on either side of our house. The bathroom is on the east side, so the morning light is always a little glorious. Elijah was on his stool washing his hands (he is a hand washing nazi now) bathed in that light that screamed to me "GRAB YOUR CAMERA!" By the time I grabbed it and fixed my settings he was bouncing down the hall moving on to the next task of the morning. Playing with his trains no doubt. Yes, the mirror reflection shows that the kitchen is messy and you can clearly see my laundry on the bathroom floor. Oh well, it's a real morning moment.

Bear with me here...blogger has switched it all up on me and of course I have to play around with it a bit to figure this new format out. Sometimes I really wish I was more techincally savvy! OK, all the time.

This photo has nothing to do with this topic because it's straight out of camera, but I've been shopping around trying to find new PS actions and although there are a handful of photographers editing in a way that I yearn to learn I can't seem to find any actions that have that same look and feel. Is it rude to ask them what they use? Do I look like a total rookie or like I'm copying their style to say "Hey I love the way you edit can you give me some pointers?" Most probably wouldn't bother telling me with out some sort of fee...but honestly I'd pay to learn how to do that. What are some of your favorite PS Actions?
