The past 4 days were just me and my boy spending time with friends and swimming in our freezing cold pool. Nothing like 4 days off work with no set plans to leave a girl feeling relaxed. Thank God the rain finally stopped long enough for us to enjoy the back yard, and I have about 20 mosquito bites to prove it...including one on the palm of my hand...WTH?!?!
Today I decided I'd grab my camera and take lil man on a walk to the park. I love all the flags posted up in my neighborhood. I talked to my son about the meaning of the day, he's too young to grasp it but never too early to start and hearing him repeat all my words as he tries to understand always brings a smile to my face. After a few trips down the slide and a run around the grass we found our way at the bridge over Laguna creek looking for tadpoles and frogs. They are hard to find...but we managed to discover thier hiding spots! The birds over the creek were going nuts! I have no idea why...but it was cool to watch. Days like this really make me wish I was a stay at home mom.
Hope you enjoy my day in pictures:

I dream of shoes
OK so today my co-workers were on the topic of Christina Aguilera and I remembered a recent spread in InStyle of her home and how much I adored the rich textures of her decor. I googled some pics to show them, found the picture of her shoe closet and began to drool.
Thus began the mindless browsing of shoes I crave that if I had money to burn would be on thier way to my home as I type. Check out my shoe dreams of today....
And when my feet need a break and becaus I do love flats:

Taking off Tuesday!
So today my baby boy turned 3. 3 years has flown by and I've loved every moment of it! I spoil my boy. I won't even try to deny that. So for his 3rd b-day we did the family get together on Sunday with ice cream cake to top it off and I've got a fun party with all his lil buddies planned for this Saturday at Funderland in Sac. That place has been around since before I was a kid and I can't wait for him to enjoy a day with his pal's on some kiddie rides. Since his actual b-day hit on a Tuesday I had to take the day off to spend with my precious boy. We started the day off running errands to get the last few details for Saturdays party, then came home for some artistic fun with finger paints and Curious George stamps (my boy loves that monkey!)
When it was Bday boys nap time mama made an escape to the salon for a quick pedi, like my blue nails?
I also stopped in at a cute lil consignment shop and couldn't pass up this adorable lil vintage purse for $8!
We did the serenade and let him blow out a candle on a cupcake for the second time. He loves to blow out candles and Happy Birthday is probably one of his fave songs. Of course the best part is the icing...I re-frosted this cupcake 3 times so he could get his fill of the good stuff.
A great way to spend a vacation day. Love you baby boy!

Mothers day hangover
A whirlwind weekend of fun! Started it off with a fun photoshoot with the adorable Preston. He was a great model, mom helped a ton coaxing out the smiles and I got some great shots! Headed home to hit the local street fair. Spending time with my best friend and watching our kids play is always wonderful. Saturday got up at the crack of dawn to participate in the breast cancer walk. I joined the team of the morning show DJ I listen to, because she cracks me up every weekday morning I figured hanging out with her at the walk would be a blast...I was right. I hope the station website posts some pics cuz I didn't take my camera! Sat night was a 3 year old b-day party...rock n roll theme was so cute! Mothers day we met up with family at Outback for lunch, headed home for a quick nap then off to spend time with more friends to wrap up the weekend. It's no wonder I'm too exhausted to make it to work today. I crammed way too much into the weekend but it was worth it. Pics of Preston coming shortly!
