Camping!!

My boy and I had a great time camping with friends last weekend. Tent camping is pretty new to us both, we've been spoiled camping in my parents 5th wheel trailer most of the time. The campground we stayed at (Lake Francis) was great and had plenty to keep everyone busy and active. It was pretty hot, so the lake and pool were necessary. I managed to take some solo walks with my camera and capture some of the beauty. Enjoy!

Gonna wash that gray....

...right outta my hair!

Took the plunge and got my hair colored in an attempt to cover my gray and "embrace the diva that I am" as my good friend so kindly put it. So here's the before:

Notice the gray is RIGHT UP FRONT! And right where I party my hair so it was so visible!

And after....

He left the bottom alone so it's still my natural color:

Oh and check out my super cute typewriter shirt from Anthroplogie, sale rack of course!

We're off to do some camping this weekend, hope everyone has a great one!

Gettin ma hurrrr did

Hair appointment tomorrow for a cut/color...I can't wait! I haven't had my hair colored professionally in...well...a super, duper long time. I'm thinking over 5 years. Every time I get my hair colored I need to buy new make up, oh darn. :)

In other news I finally purchased a new duvet cover for my bed. I haven't taken it out of the package but it's quite lovely and such a steal! Where did I pick it up you ask? Well from Target of course!

Pictures to come of the new do!

Noah is 6 months!

Man they seriously grow too fast! His eyes are the bluest, his smile is non-stop, and his hair is a natural hawk! Gotta luv this kid.

Did a fun photoshoot with Noah this past weekend and learned how to do a couple new things with photoshop. FUN STUFF!

Summer Vacation brings forth new talent

This year no excursions to Mexico or Hawaii...instead my folks took their trip with my aunties and uncle's to Shastina and I stayed home with my boy. I went into this week with big ideas about potty training and trips to museums in San Francisco, perhaps a couple photo shoots...all the things I use work as an excuse not to do. About half way through day two of potty training I came to the conclusion he's just not ready. The war isn't over but this battle had to end before I lost my mind! I also gained a new appreciation for the gift of my parents taking care of my son every day while I work. I always do when they take off, but age three is no joke when it comes to having your patience tested. We had a lot of fun spending time with friends, lot's of pool time and ice cream treats. Pretty sure I gained about 5 lbs this week but that's what vacations are for right? I did allow my boy to get behind the camera, which he enjoyed to the fullest (gotta be like mommy.) He got to use my point and shoot digital and once he got the hang of waiting for it to take before he pointed it at the ground he actually took some decent shots! Check out my future photographers work!

A much needed break

So I FINALLY got to see Sex and the City 2. I had made plans to see it with my good friend Melissa since we'd seen the first one together, then she went and had an emergency c-section a month early which totally put a wrench in that plan....so rude! Now that the precious baby girl is healthy and growing we were able to make an escape and found a theatre in town still playing it. I have to say....I loved it. I expected I would but I read so many bad reviews I was a tad worried. Some of the scene's were a little on the cheesy side (karaoke scene) and SO many of the outfits were just outrageous, what were they thinking with that spike shoulder get up on Samantha?!?! The characters I have loved for years still made me laugh and cry and want to go shopping for shoes. After being off work and taking care of my 3 year old boy all alone for the past 3 days I was about to snap. 3 is rough. The mommy conversation between Charlotte and Miranda was just what the doctor ordered! So thank you Melissa for the time away from our kids and thank you Fab 4 for the laughs, smiles, and heartwarming moments.

My 4th of July

Very cool 4th of July complete with the required grilled meats:

Kids and babies in red white and blue:

Fireworks:

And me in white shorts!

I bought this outfit at Marshall's the Friday before the 4th then went on a hunt for a pair of shoes to go with it. Since the shorts and shirt came to a total of $30 I didn't want to spend a grip on shoes and after hitting about 4 stores I settled on these $10 sandals from Khols. I don't love them...it's always hard to find white shoes I do like...but my hunt for the perfect pair of white espadrille wedges with ankle ties just wasn't sucessful.

These would have been perfect:
