Baby, Baby, Baby...

I had the rare privilege of some free time yesterday and headed over to Amy's for another photo shoot with Noah. Unfortunately he wasn't on board with our plan. He was fussy. Sometimes that's just the case with little ones! He did give us a brief moment of non-crying so we took advantage and here are the results. I'm loving the new lens now that I've had some time to really play with it. (Nikon 35mm 1.8, super cheap!) I'm also playing around with what I should call myself if I ever do make a business out of this. Thoughts?

Drumroll Please........

Finally posting the pictures from last weekends shoot with Claire. I had a blast, learned a ton, and began to scratch the surface of the enigma that is photoshop. I even purchased a "Photoshop for Dummies" book but I think I need a "Photoshop for infants" version. Thank God for fellow photographer friends with a lot more knowledge and a willingness to share (thats you Dave!) Anyway, hope you enjoy these! Your comments are appreciated. I can't wait for the next one!

Slacking...

I haven't posted anything in a while because....well....I'm busy watching reality tv! The Bachelor finale is rearing it's ugly head (I swear if he chooses Vienna he gets what he deserves,) Survivor's anticipated heroes vs. villians season has begun, and Last Sunday the Amazing Race started off with a bang! Of course Biggest Loser is in the mix as well, however, the personalities on this season haven't gripped me like seasons past so I find myself "listening" to the show with my laptop or my son catching more of my attention on Tuesday nights. I know some people, many of which I call friend, hate reality television but I wear my badge of "reality show fan" with pride.

The Bachelor: So, will Gia be the next bachelorette? I think she'd be a great candidate, she handled herself with such class when she got dumped Monday night. She's ridiculously hot! And it seems as though she's had a tough time with love, might do her self esteem some good to have 25 guys vying for her love.

Survivor: MAN I LOVE THIS SHOW! The mix of "heroes" and "villans" makes for a very interesting twist. I have NO IDEA who will outwit this group of savvy past contestants. They've all seen each other's game before so someone is gonna have to be beyond crafty to make it to the end. Oh, and James, will you marry me? :)

Amazing Race: I like the attorney girls and the Big Brother couple so far. But it's way too early to know who's going to handle the pressure. More than anything I enjoy seeing the relationships challenged, the true nature of people is on display often in this show and I find it fascinating.

Biggest Loser: My co-worker read an article about how much of this show is not what it seems. It's sort of a relief because even if I worked out 8 hours a day I don't think I could ever lose 17 lbs in a week! I still enjoy seeing the drastic changes and watching Jillian yell and scream.

OK I promise I'll step away from the tv and get the pics posted I took last weekend real soon!

Progress

Nearly a year ago I had the pleasure of doing a "pin up style" photo shoot with a beautiful girl nammed Shannen. She was a friend of a friend and since I was looking for some experience and she was looking for a way to get fun/sexy pictures for her husband done with a low intimidation factor we scratched each others backs. Looking at these today I can see I've made some good progress this year which is always a good feeling. : ) I've still got a lot to learn and for me the best way to do that is to jump in and figure it out, books do me little good and what people tell me usually goes in one ear and out the other. I do have a shoot planned for this weekend that I'm giddy with excitement about!

Here are a few from my shoot with Shannen that I thought were worth sharing (and wouldn't cause her to blush too much.) I did her hair, she styled the rest of it. I think a little comparison with these and what I post after this next shoot will be fun for me, maybe you too? ; )

Non-Stop Saturday

Whew!!! I know I'm not the most ambitious woman. Self proclaimed queen of all procrastinators and usually looking for the easiest way to get as little as possible done, yep that's me. But after several fun filled weekends the "to-do" list was getting pretty long. I got up early to satisfy my son's craving for "pancakes" at IHOP. I never go out for breakfast since I don't like eggs but he was asking for pancakes and far be it from me to deny that sweet face of something so simple. Turns out it wasn't actually pancakes he wanted. After about three bites he proceeded to only eat the whipped cream topping, still haven't quite figured out what he thought pancakes were. Maybe he thought they were another form of actual cake, poor kid was disappointed. Then we hit the local farmers market to check a few things off my grocery list. Followed by Target(my addiction,) Nugget grocery store, then home to put the boy down for his nap and start on the overflowing dirty laundry. Made a quick run to get the oil changed while the little man snoozed and hit a thrift shop while the car was getting worked on but that trip only confirmed I need to drop one more size before the real fun in shopping begins. The original plan for the rest of the day was going to be another venture in learning to cook. I know how to cook basic stuff but I've been trying to branch out lately and tonight's menu plan was pork tenderloin with roasted root veggies and a butternut squash barley pilaf, but we got an invite to meet up with another single mom friend and since my boy hasn't seen his lil buddy in a long time I asked my 2 year old what we should do and of course he voted we go play. We smashed downtown to a non-profit kids art center to meet up with our friends, great place with all kinds of tools and resources to feed kids creative needs. After about an hour and a half of play we ran through taco bell for a nutritious dinner, mother of the year award there, then home to finish up that pile of laundry. After we had an "incident" in the bathtub I will spare you the details of, let's just say that duty in motherhood has thus far won the award for my least fav, I am finally crashing...days like this make my feet ache and ensure I'll have a good nights sleep.

Backtrack

I'm almost feeling guilty about posting that previous pic of the toothpick thin model. Yes, I LOVE that dress but I'd much rather see it on Crystal Renn! For those of you fashionista's living under a rock Crystal Renn is a size 12 Supermodel that is promoting the truth that healthy, curvy women are BEAUTIFUL! She started her modeling carrer at 14 and after suffering from anorexia trying to meet the expectations of the industry she gained weight and came back on the scene.

I've still got some work to do to get back into my 12's, one more size. So a more appropriate picture for me to set as my goal would be one of the many stunning ones here of the gorgeous Crystal.

Inspiration

I stumbled accross this pic today in my attempts to keep busy, SO ADORABLE! I heart this dress! I think I'll print it and put it up on my fridge to keep me away from the late night snacking. I don't want to be as skinny as this girl but I'll need to drop quite a few lbs to pull something like this off.
